What is a MUD?

MUD stands for Multi User Dimension. People connect to one via telnet or a mud client.
In a MUD there is usually 50, 100, 150, or 200 levels. Any less and there aren't enough
levels to fit all the skills/spells in, and any more and you go too many levels before your
next skill/spell. In order to level, you must kill monsters, or mobs for short to gain xp,
or experience. The amount of xp from a mob varies depending on the difference in your levels,
difference in your hp(hit points), etc. The amount of xp from level to level also varies,
the higher the level, the more xp to get to the next one. Each class has different skills/spells.
In order to get them, you must first get to the appropriate level to learn the skill/spell, and
practice it at a trainer. You also attributes and a number assigned to them decided by a random
dice roll when you make your character. Strength determines how much stuff you can carry, wisdom
determines how many practices you get each level, which are used to practice skills/spells,
intelligence is used to determine how many practices are needed to practice a skill/spell,
dexterity determines how easily you can dodge enemy attacks, and constitution determines how
many hp you get per level and how fast you regen your hp when resting/sleeping.

How do I join a MUD?

There are several ways to join a MUD. First, the easiest, but the worst way. Go to your taskbar
and bring up the start menu. Click on run. When it asks for which program to run, type in telnet,
and click OK. This will bring up telnet. Click on file and scroll down to remote system. Click.
In host name, type in the MUD's address and in port type in the port. Then click connect. This is
the worst way because first of all, there is no color, and secondly, there are virtually no
helpful operations built into telnet. The second way to connect to a MUD takes a little longer,
but is worth it. First, you must click here to download a zMUD if you don't have it. It is 518 kilo
and takes a couple of minutes. Then you must unzip it. If you don't have
an unzip program on your computer, you can download pkzip(shareware) here(681 kb).
In order for pkzip to work, you also need to download this(2 kb), and this(.5 kb), and this(4 kb),
and this(5.5 kb), and this(15 kb), and finally, this(218 kb) Once you're done extracting zMUD, open it, click on connection wizard,
and it will ask you which list to open. If you want to join
Timetravellers, click cancel, and it will bring up a box.
In host, put in fate.digital-genesis.com, and in port put in 3000. Now click connect.

What is TT?

Timetravellers, or TT for short, incorporates multiclassing into its class system. You start out
by choosing 3 classes. One for future, one for present, and one for past. Each time class in each
time period has different skills, strengths, and weaknesses. How many hp and mp you get per level
not only depends on your constitution etc. but also on your class. Like for example, it isn't wise
to be a mercenary in the past but a telepath/shapeshifter in the future because you could practice
the skills, but not be able to use them due to lack of mp.
